| About the Team |
The girls' track team is comprised of 15 or more student-athletes of varying ability levels. Students are encouraged to learn and train to compete in two or more events. We have a small team, but we are usually able to field competitors in every event including the two relays. The 2008 squad was led by two outstanding seniors; Cassie Canastra - the New England champion in the shot put (school record 37' 5.5" and Tiffany Kornegay (34' triple jump, 5' high jump and 12.9 100 meter). Our current track is outdated, but plans are underway to build a new synthetic track and multi-sport complex. Because of this, our home meets are currently being held at Old Rochester Regional High School which is 3 miles from campus. We compete against a couple of local high schools and members of the I.S.L., such as Governor's Academy, St. George's, Milton and Thayer, in addition to competing in the New England Prep School Track Association Div. II championships. The team is a close knit group of athletes who are united by team work and good sportsmanship.
