Minutes of Meeting

September 15, 2007

On Saturday, September 15, 2007, the first parent meeting of the school year took place in Lyndon South Auditorium, beginning promptly at 9:00 A.M. with an impressive group of over 65 enthusiastic parents.  A welcome from Headmaster Stroud was followed by a discussion led by Director of Studies, Joe Doggett and Dean of Students, Jay Houck on the topic of transition and orientation.  They shared their thoughts and perspective on the types of things parents can expect to experience with their children as the students navigate the early weeks of school and all the obligations involved.  After a brief break, Headmaster Stroud took the floor for questions and answers and offered his viewpoint on topics and concerns raised by parents ranging from dress code to academics.

An update of coming events and volunteer opportunities rounded out the meeting and an invitation to join us on October 13 for a discussion on grades, academics and teacher conferences concluded the meeting at 11:00 A.M.
