Minutes of the Meeting
October 13, 2007
The second Tabor Academy Parents Meeting began with John Heavey's expertise about Tabor's writing program, its incorporation in courses and how faculty prepare students for the SAT writing section. Next, Joan Roller shared information on the Strategies for Success Program and the many uses of the Academic Resource Center. After a brief break, Joe Doggett talked about Advanced Placement and Honors Courses and the process of student application and placement in those courses. John Crosby's presentation on technology and how it is used in the teaching of science classes was informative and eye opening. Details about new cutting edge technology equipment used aboard The Tabor Boy for experiments was intriguing, as was his power point presentation highlighting the use of computer hardware and software in teaching day to day classes.
The next meeting will be November 10, 2007.
