About the Team

The Varsity Golf team finished the season with a 7-3 overall record in a rain-shortened season.  With a 1-2 record after three matches, the team ran the table by winning its final six matches against interscholastic teams, besting opponents by an average score of 17 strokes on nine-hole matches.  In true Seawolf manner, the team was generally able to beat other teams with superior performance at the bottom part of the ladder.  The team’s only blemish down the stretch was the loss of the Callahan Trophy to the members of The Kittansett Club, sending the cherished silver plate back to the club for one year, at most.  Team highlights include victories over Nobles, Worcester Academy, and perennial powerhouse Loomis Chaffee.  Individual highlights include freshman Sam Toomey who posted the team’s low score in 5 matches, and Sam Barrington’s 39 on the front-nine at Kittansett during the final match of the season—the team’s best nine-hole score .The team bids farewell to seniors Malcolm Gosling, Mimi Neal, Mark Colp, and Matt Rego.
