Tim Walsh Coach |
 |
 |
Joe Resmini A long-time veteran of the Tabor wrestling program, Coach Resmini has had the opportunity to work with two greats in the Tabor wrestling program, Larry Bidstrup and Tim Walsh. Fortunately for us, Res has brought his own energy and knowledge to the Tabor mats and this has had a positive impact on hundreds of Tabor wrestlers past, present and future. |

Conan Leary Coach Leary, a graduate of Tabor Academy (’97), returned to the School by the Sea in 2006 as a teacher of history and economics. While attending Tabor, Leary played football, wrestling, and lacrosse. During his three years on the wrestling mat Leary won two Class A and two N.E. titles and was named the outstanding wrestler at all four tournaments. Additionally, Leary was a three-time prep school All-American placing 6th as a sophomore, 2nd as a junior, and culminating his senior undefeated season as a National Champion. In the Spring of 1997, Leary was awarded the Dave Schultz award by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for best wrestler in the State of Massachusetts. While attending Williams College, Leary was voted rookie of the year as a freshman and was a three time all New England Wrestler and a New England Conference Champion. Leary was also selected to the Division II/III national team and traveled to and competed against the Bulgarian, French, Italian, and Russian national teams. Leary also played football and lacrosse while at Tabor and also played four years of football while attending Williams College. Leary began his teaching and coaching at secondary school level in 2001 and looks forward to keeping the Seawolves athletic programs strong. |

2007-08 TABOR WRESTLING SEASON SUMMARY
This year’s team faced the season with cautious optimism, particularly given the graduation of last year’s strong senior class. The leadership of this year’s seniors enabled the Seawolves to fashion a credible 18-4 dual meet record and place competitively in every tournament they entered. An initial 51-26 upset victory over New England powerhouse Brooks School launched the season for the Tabor grapplers. The last meet of the year was payback to a Noble & Greenough squad that had pulled an upset victory the previous season. Payback can be painful and it was an impressive win where their competitive opponents could only win four individual bouts that day; it seemed that Tabor was on a mission its 47-27 final victory. Other big wins came against Pomfret, Loomis, Worcester and Phillips Exeter Academy. In the Doug Parker Christmas tournament the team won the third place trophy and in so doing was awarded the Team Sportsmanship Award . In the Class “A”s Tabor placed 4th of 14 and later took 8th of 44 at the New Englands. Both finishes were the best in over a decade and were a tribute to the hard work of this year’s edition of Tabor Wrestling. Freshman Santo Anza won gold at the “A”s in leading 8 others to medal in the event. Four Seawolves placed in the New Englands, led by senior Ryan Parish who overcame injuries to garner a 4th place finish. All in all, the season was an unanticipated success and a real credit to the hard work of an unheralded and very competitive group of Tabor wrestlers.

Katherine says ...
Name: Katherine Maloy ‘08 Hometown: Marshfield, MA Former school: Norwell Middle School Why I came to Tabor:I applied to five different boarding schools, and Tabor was the first one I that I looked at. It was my first impression of what a private school had to offer, and I instantly fell in love with it. Tabor struck me as not only a beautiful campus but a place where everyone was welcome and could fit in. Throughout my entire admissions process, everyone that I talked to was very positive about Tabor, and it remained my favorite school even after I had visited the others. So, when I was accepted, I jumped at the chance to come. Leadership positions: Head Tour Guide, Dormitory Proctor, Peer Counselor, Library Proctor After school activities: Fall Drama, Winter Musical, Varsity Crew Clubs: Community Service, Student Ambassadors, Global Partners, SADD
