Department Faculty

Course offerings in the sciences emphasize hands-on experience in skill development and content mastery. Students are presented with concepts and theories and are encouraged to apply them to both familiar and unfamiliar circumstances. The goals of the department are threefold: to teach students to become lifelong questioners and problem solvers; to provide them with the necessary skill to analyze data and interpret information; and to gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the natural world.

Tabor takes advantage of its location on the shores of Buzzard’s Bay in teaching students scientific inquiry using its two waterfront Marine Science Lab facilities. Using the sea as a unifying theme as well as a readily accessible field site, many science courses spend time investigating the ocean through direct observation and analysis.
