Responsibilities at Tabor:History Faculty, Residential Dean, Coach, Dorm Parent

Favorite part of your job? Interaction with the students in the dorms, on the fields and courts, and in classrooms. This is truly and amazing community.

What is life in the dormitory like? Busy. 28 Senior girls can be quite the challenge, especially around college acceptance time. But they all get along well with my wife and daughter and that makes for some truly wonderful experiences.

How has Tabor changed since you graduated? At first glance, you’d think that it’s changed a lot but really, it hasn’t all that much. Some of the names and faces have changed but the culture and the “feel” of Tabor is the same as it was when I was here. It’s still the “school by the sea”, and then some!

What student qualities make for the strongest Tabor experience?
The most successful Tabor students, in general, are the ones that are open and flexible to all that Tabor has to offer. I know that I wasn’t very open to trying new things when I was a student and that has truly changed the way I teach, advise and coach now as a faculty member.

Advice to a new student: Whether it’s the Marine Science program, the international excursions or even the SSV Tabor Boy, all students, new or returning, should take advantage of the uniqueness of Tabor.
