Will Becker Coach Will Becker is now beginning his 16th year as Tabor’s girls’ varsity basketball coach. Coach Becker has done a fantastic job in elevating Tabor to one of the elite programs in New England Prep School basketball. The Tabor girls’ program has advanced to the finals of the New England Class A tournament each of the past six years and ten times in the last 15 years. In that time, they have returned as champions six times. In addition to his work on the hardwood, Coach Becker has been involved here at Tabor coaching cross country, tennis, lacrosse and soccer as well as teaching all levels of mathematics. Coach Becker can be reached at wbecker@taboracademy.org. |

Anny Candelario Coach Candelario has come full circle as she was a co-captain of Tabor’s ’97 New England Championship basketball team and is now is assisting her mentor, coach Becker. Ms. Candelario was busy with our JV-B field hockey team in the fall and is our assistant Varsity Lacrosse coach in the spring time. Additionally, Ms. Candelario teaches mathematics and lives in Lillard Hall. |

| About the Team |
Summary of 2007-2008:
This was perhaps the most cohesive girls basketball team Tabor Academy has fielded; no one player dominated either the offensive or defensive end of the floor. However, together the girls produced one of the finest seasons a Tabor team has had. Facing by far the most difficult schedule in New England, the girls finished the regular season with a perfect record and, for the sixth time in the past seven years, were ranked first in New England.
Tabor’s team was a senior-led team. Maddie Moreau, Tory Dennerlein, Tiffany Kornegay and Jil Vaughan played hard all year and each distinguished themselves at different points during the season. They set a tremendous example on and off the court for the underclassmen and they will be sorely missed in the seasons to come. However, we look forward to following each player’s career in college next year.
The team enjoyed impressive wins over Notre Dame Fitchburg and eventual New England Champion, Kent School, and a come from behind overtime win at Worcester Academy. Tabor later beat both Nobles and Worcester to claim the first annual Mark Tilton Classic near the end of the season.
A strong core of returning underclassmen has their work cut out for them next year. This will be a tough act to follow.
