Minutes of Meeting

The topic for this meeting was "Anticipating the Exam Experieince" with Joseph Doggett, Director of Studies, Jay Houck, Dean of Students and Joan Roller, Director of the Academic Resource Center.  Points included in their discussion included:

  • Tabor's philosophy regarding the role exams should play in a student's overall secondary school experience and academic preparation
  • The logistics of the review period, exam week and the start up of Semester 2
  • How faculty strive to construct exams that are fair, accessible, challenging and result in useful evaluations
  • Support offered to students in preparing for exams
  • How Tabor addresses the social and emotional component of stressful moments during the year
  • The use of the ARC (Academic Resource Center) during exams and throughout the year
