Join us as we make a promise to future Tabor students!

Our 15-year comprehensive fundraising effort, Tabor Promise, started in 2001, seeks to increase support of the endowment, to grow the Annual Fund and to provide funds for construction and ongoing renovations to our facilities that ensure our continued competitiveness in attracting the best students and faculty and supporting them in their work together.

The goals of The Tabor Promise take both a short-term and a long-term view. In Phase One, which ended June 30, 2006, we completed the construction of our Center for Marine & Nautical Sciences, and the majority of the fundraising for renovations to the Math & Science Wing of the Academic Center. In addition, many renovations of dormitories to improve faculty housing were accomplished. The total Annual Fund increased to 10% of operations and the SSV TABOR BOY achieved a much healthier endowment.

Phase Two kicked off in July 2006 and includes roughly $5 million for further housing needs, $25 million for endowments for faculty benefits, scholarships and general needs, and calls for further fine-tuning of the Annual Fund to raise 10% of operations with unrestricted funds. In the final five years, we plan to maintain our unrestricted annual fund at 10% of operations while continuing a strong focus on endowment. In all, this effort will raise over $120 million for Tabor’s future.

Naming opportunities for interested donors are available for endowment gifts of $10,000 or more.  Please contact Kerry Saltonstall to learn more..
